ABOUT THIS TRACK

K1 Speed in Wilmington brings electric indoor racing to the North Shore, just outside Boston's growing suburbs and communities. Fast, clean, and dependable, the electric karts deliver consistent performance lap after lap without the variability that can come with different fuel types. Families and corporate groups find exactly what they need here; the facility handles birthday parties, team buildings, and casual drop-ins with equal ease and professionalism. Indoor racing means you're not battling New England weather, which matters significantly in a region where winter can arrive without much warning. Multiple heats keep things moving smoothly, and the track layout gives both kids and adults something worth engaging with seriously. Located near shopping and dining options, it works perfectly as part of a larger outing or entertainment day. K1 has built a reputation for operation that doesn't cut corners on safety or track quality standards.

K1 speed hosted our office off-site team building event and I have to say it's one of the best times we've ever had. The staff was great in the track. Staff was very safety, conscious and allowed us to have a bunch of fun. Their timing was also very good as our food was ready right after our second race. Highly recommend this for an office party.

Terrible first experience. The front desk is super nice, but the staff in the lap don’t really do anything even if people hit you on purpose. This is supposed to be a non-contact sport, yet I got slammed three damn times by the same person in just 12 laps. My ankle’s scratched up, my shoulder’s bruised, and my helmet nearly got knocked off. I even got stuck on the track because of it. And what’s worse? Nothing happened to the group of people who kept ramming into me and my friend on purpose. It’s ridiculous! are there no rules, or do they just not apply to some people? Absolute waste of time. The staff have no idea what they’re doing, and the drivers act like reckless idiots with no respect. Also the staff ‘forgot’ to put our name on the list, so we waited for 40+mins for this shitty experience.

Honestly, I was thinking it was gonna be a fun experience. The front - was pretty nice, very easy to check-in and everything. But when you get into the racetrack, I kind of didn't know what to do. So I just had to watch how people were getting into the track. Apparently you have to talk to the person and in front of the computer. Once we got in, like, sat down in our go-cart. It was chaos. They had kids and adults racing in the same track and in all honesty, I think that's the main reason why I didn't enjoy it because kids are kids and they won't follow rules. And I got hit a couple of times by them. So not a fun experience. By the end of it all, I was pretty irritated.

Extremely disappointing experience. Showed up with 2 other friends around 6:30 and was told it be just over two hours due to kids league night. That’s fine, it’s on us as we didn’t look or call ahead. Not the point of this review. Came back at 8:30 and got in our race heat immediately along with 5 others. After the first lap it became immediately obvious the employees throttled down and up the race cars and it’s not even a small amount. 2 of the 3 of us were throttled back by nearly 5 seconds per lap on a 25 second lap time! 2 carts were going full speed and the other 6 were at half speed. None of us did anything wrong, received no warnings, and hit no one. 2 out of our 3 purchased races my kart and my friends kart was throttled down the entire race. We would give full gas at every turn. Didn’t need to let up on the gas once and had the same two riders lapping me multiple times again and again. My friends and I came here to race against each other. It’s not fun when 2 karts in the field are twice as fast as everyone else and those are the only karts who are fast enough to make any passes. This place isn’t cheap, but overall this experience was a complete waste of my time and money. Would not recommend if you want a real karting experience with your friends.
