We recently celebrated my son’s birthday at the Des Moines K1 Speed location with their Junior Mini Grand Prix Premiere+ package. The staff was fantastic, friendly, helpful, and very accommodating. Unfortunately, a big part of the package was disappointing. The kids were supposed to receive $20 each in arcade credits, but more than half of the machines were broken, and the ones that worked were outdated. This meant that the arcade portion of the experience, something the kids were excited about, was a big letdown. I followed up by email with the event representative afterward, including photos, but never heard back. The racing itself was fun and the staff did a great job, the pizza mediocre but the broken arcade and lack of customer follow-up really overshadowed the experience.
Fun experience for 12 year old birthday with his friend! (Will definitely come back for a fun, slightly competitive, super unique, date night also!) Little pricey, but a lifetime memorable, first - real driving experience- for a Birthday Boys Golden 12th Birthday! Would recommend for kids or adults!
Brought my son and a friend here for his birthday. The races are outrageously expensive for the amount of time you are actually racing. Most of the games took their credits and didn’t work. They stood in line and got ignored by staff waiting for prizes. A lot of money spent for crappy customer service and not much actual race time.
