Came here for a birthday and had an amazing experience. When we got there we were a little nervous about seeing how long the wait was but they actually got us in really quickly. And driving is actually less scary than watching in my opinion. The employees are super friendly and helpful and explain everything. The karts are just the right speed to be exciting while being safe. It was quite competitive but everyone was cautious about each other. They print your stats at the ends and you also get them emailed to you. Overall it was a great time and other than the smell of gas, the atmosphere was great!
I am so upset by my experience interacting with one of the staff members, I have to talk about it!!!! My friends and I were leaving Lauritzen Gardens and we wanted to continue the fun evening we were having - I called Joe's Karting at 8:45pm and asked if they were open and if the 4 of us could get a race in tonight. The staff member said come on in and something about the race starting at 9pm - I said I'm not sure how far away we are but we are on the way! We were just about to exit from the Gardens (quick bathroom break, water refill). He was friendly over the phone and we were getting pumped up! It was a little over 10 minutes to get there from the Gardens. My bestie and I are jamming to Tokyo Drift in the car, prepping for our race. We walk in at 9:08pm and the dude said they are closed and we can't race. I explained I talked to someone on the phone and said we were coming - He was the one I talked to. I was so confused and so excited, I couldn't understand the tone he was talking to me. But he continued to say, "Don't act dumb. I told you to be here by 9pm. You got here on time then messed around in your car and now you're too late. We are closed. That guy closed up already." He was basically yelling at me. I understand wanting to close down early and getting home but to yell at me about it? After I called before we got there to make sure we could race? And if he knew we were there, why would he intentionally close down? It truly ruined what could have been such a fun experience & now I'm hesitant to return.
My 10 year old had a great time in a duel cart; and she would have liked to have drove herself. The turns were thrilling to her and gave genuine butterflies of excitement. Good safety check for helmet and class on cart. I think there should be a height/weight limitation for driving versus an age restriction as long as parents sign off. I understand that may also add to wait time though. I like the email they send as a result of your race. It's a bit spendy for my taste but a great adventure at least once.
This is definitely not my kind of place as it is loud and smelly! Lol. But I came along with two of my grown children who have been here lots of times and really love coming here. They always have fun when they go but to me it seems over-priced for what little time you get to race.
