Schaumburg anchors Chicago's northwest suburbs, a retail and office hub where the Andretti chain planted its first Illinois location. The formula is the one Andretti runs nationwide: electric karts on an indoor circuit, backed by an arcade, virtual reality, and enough non-racing attractions to keep mixed groups busy for an afternoon. The karts have real pace once the system trusts you, and the indoor setting means January in Chicagoland is no obstacle. Families and corporate groups make up much of the traffic, and the venue is built to absorb them without the track turning into bumper cars. For city residents it's a straightforward drive out I-90, and for suburban families it fills the gap Chicago's kart-light metro has had for years.
We visited this place on Sunday. Overall, it feels more suitable for teenagers — I expected something a bit more geared toward adults. The most exciting part was the 7D theater, especially the clown game. In general, the staff and the place itself are great. Prices are fairly reasonable. We ordered a taco platter — it was really tasty and went perfectly with beer. We didn’t try the go-karts because the line was very long. The restrooms are clean, and the men’s stalls have large partitions, which is a big plus. However, one sink was broken, which is a bit surprising for a newly opened place.
We had a great time at Andretti. Really friendly staff and very clean facility. We did karting and spent some time in the arcade. The karting was well organized. We were worried that we couldn’t make reservations but you definitely don’t need them. We bought our tickets and were on the track 20 minutes after. The viewing area for those who don’t want to race was very immersive for watching, cool feature. The arcade games were extremely fun! Not your basic games at all. We spent about 2 hours playing, there was a lot of variety. The food was average but that’s expected.
Andretti's is a cool place to hang out with friends, date, or the family. It can be a bit pricey depending on what you want to do. They have a large game room, bowling, VR and 7D experiences, laser tag, go karts and food/drinks! My family loves that the go karts go faster than normal, but be careful on the turns! The food and drinks were overall good! I recommend the pulled pork mac and cheese, southwest egg rolls and the strawberry lemonade (pictured).
I just want to tell you that it was our first experience at Mario Andretti‘s and we loved every bit of it. There were a 11 of us and I spent almost $1000 that day, but it was well worth it with my family. We enjoyed having Lexus be our waitress, and she served us with a smile and couldn’t do enough for us. I was constantly adding to our order and she was pleased to take care of our needs. She even tried to help me determine when I should put our order in since I had kids doing some many different things. She saved the day by having everything ready and hot and our drinks cold! She couldn’t have been better! Thank you Andretti’s for a memorable family gathering at your place! Mary Jo Hull Rockford, Illinois
