I have been to several "pro kart" facilities over the years and was a regular at K1 speed... None of the places I've gone have made me feel as welcome from the moment I walk in the door. This place is family owned and they love this place... Sidenote, the karts are fast, the track is challenging for races chasing the clock and comfortable for those with less skill but wanting to have fun.
Pro Karting Experience is fantastic. The owner, Terry, is passionate about providing a great karting environment for everyone. He's great with my kids and offers feedback in a positive and constructive way. The rest of the staff are also very accommodating and the track layout is fun. They even change between a few layout variations from time to time to keep things interesting. Other karting venues in the Tampa Bay area seem to have major inconsistencies with the speed of each kart. I'm not sure if this is because they use electric karts and encounter issues with charge, but PKE uses gas powered karts and they seem to be much more consistent. Another difference between PKE and other venues is that here at PKE, in my experience, the staff are much more attentive to issues such as aggressive drivers or issues with a kart and intervening when necessary. I've seen some reviews complaining about the wait time before getting out on track. This is honestly something my family and I have experienced at every karting venue we've gone to, and it really just depends on when you go and how many others happen to be there at the time. We've gone at times when there's hardly anyone there and my kids can get going right away, while other times there is a wait because of the turnout. That's just the nature of karting, so I can't fault PKE there. I really can't fault them for anything. Highly recommended.
