⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ From Newport to the Podium – The Perfect 26th Birthday at R1! My girlfriend surprised me with a trip to R1 Indoor Karting for my 26th birthday, and it turned out to be one of the best birthdays I've had in years! This was my second visit after coming for the first time on January 30th. Ever since that first experience, I couldn't stop talking about how much fun I had, so she decided to surprise me and bring me back. We drove all the way from Newport, and due to traffic I arrived a few minutes late. The staff were incredibly understanding, friendly, and accommodating. They helped adjust our booking without any hassle, which immediately made us feel welcome and allowed us to enjoy the day stress-free. We booked four Advanced karting races, and every race was an absolute blast. The karts were fast, the track was exciting, and the competition made it even better. The highlight of the day was crossing the finish line in **1st place**, making my birthday celebration even more memorable! As if the karting wasn't enough, we also tried the axe throwing experience. Going in, I was a complete beginner, but **Mike** was fantastic. He took the time to teach me proper technique, gave me helpful tips, and had me consistently sticking axes into the target in no time. What really made the experience stand out was how engaging and fun he made it. He introduced us to a game where we had to aim for specific targets that represented our partner's name, turning it into a friendly competition and creating some hilarious moments that we'll be talking about for a long time. Mike's energy, patience, and enthusiasm made the experience unforgettable. After all the activities, we grabbed some chicken quesadillas, which were excellent, and spent time taking pictures to remember the day. Between the racing, axe throwing, food, and great atmosphere, we honestly couldn't have asked for a better birthday outing. What makes R1 special isn't just the activities—it's the people. From the staff helping us with our booking to Mike making sure we had an amazing axe throwing experience, everyone genuinely seemed invested in making sure guests had a great time. Whether you're celebrating a birthday, planning a date night, or just looking for an exciting day out, I highly recommend R1. An amazing place for a family, friends, even date night. So much to do. A little something for everyone. We went Friday March 20th 2026 for the first time as a family . My kids are 16yrs and 20yrs old and we all had the time of our lives. Love they are opened late. Staff was friendly and informative, food wasn’t bad either. I would recommend going atleast once. If you book online they have options to bundle some of the things to do at a cheaper price. We didn’t do everything that was there but did a majority of the things they offered.
Kids went for my sons birthday & despite a hiccup with a kart not working on the track, the guys kept kids calm, just quickly switched out, restarted the race & everyone had so much fun. Staff was knowledgeable and kind; especially Joey & Jad who I was able to catch their names. Everyone we talked was friendly & seemed to like/love their job even though it wasn’t heavily packed when we went. The arcade is soooo reasonably priced & the kids had such a great time.
We recently brought our son here for his 11th birthday, and our 13-year-old daughter came too. It was our first time, and both kids were really nervous to try the race karts — but they ended up absolutely loving it! They have not stopped talking about it and are already begging to come back. A huge thank you to Brando for being so amazing with our children. He took the time to explain everything clearly, made them feel comfortable, and truly helped ease their anxiety. We left with huge smiles on our faces. Also, Amanda at the front desk was wonderful and so welcoming from the moment we walked in. Such a great experience all around — we will definitely be back!
